Enabling the Task Scheduler Service (Windows NT only)
Task scheduling works in conjunction with the Perl program to enable automatic nightly updates to your SSW installation. A Task Scheduling service is already provided with the Windows NT operating system.
Determine if Task Scheduler is enabled:
1.) Double-click the "My Computer" icon on the Windows desktop.
2.) Double-click the "Control Panel" folder.
3.) Double-click the "Services" icon. A "Services" panel will appear.
4.) Use the scroll bar to locate "Task Scheduler" under the heading "Service".
5.) "Started" should be listed under the "Status" heading.
6.) "Automatic" should be listed under the "Startup" heading.
7.) If Task Scheduler is not set as indicated in steps #5 and #6, continue to the next section below.
Enabling the Task Scheduler:
1.) If you have not already done so, bring up the "Services" panel. (Steps #1-3 above.)
2.) Use the scroll bar to locate "Task Scheduler" under the heading "Service".
3.) Double click on "Task Scheduler". A smaller "Service" panel will appear.
4.) Under the heading "Startup Type" check "Automatic". Click "OK".
4.) On the larger "Services" panel click "Start".
5.) Verify that "Started" is now listed under the "Status" heading.
6.) Verify that "Automatic" is now listed under the "Startup" heading.
7.) Click "Close".
