Other Missions

MSSL has been or is involved in a number of other astrophysical missions

• XMM (the X-ray Multi-Mirror Mission) where MSSL is involved in two of the three instruments: The optical monitor and the Reflection Grating Spectrometer (RGS)
• ISO - Infrared Space Observatory and ESA conerstone mission launched in November 1995. MSSL was a co-investigator on the Long Wavelength Spectrometer (LWS). For more information on ISO see the ISO Homepage in Holland.
• ROSAT (RöntgenSatellite) and X-ray and EUV observatory built by Germany, UK and US launched in June 1990. MSSL was involved with construction of the EUV instrument, the Wide Field Camera.
