Jet-X at MSSL

Jet-X - Medium Surveys

Broad band studies of X-ray sources have become increasingly important over the past few years. All sky surveys such as that undertaken by ROSAT have provided large uniform samples with which to study whole classes ogf objects. Other samples have been made from serendipitous detections of sources in pointed data, which have been able to probe fainter sources than seen in the sky surveys. An example of this is the ROSAT International X-ray and Optical Survey (RIXOS, see for example here). Jet-X will be able to provide similar data to samples such as RIXOS, enabling the study of objects as varied as Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) and stars.
