There will be other materials and a discussion area for Project Management – concerning coursework related issues for example – in the Project Management online course in WebCT (available to suitably registered students). We encourage all students to participate in the online course.

Reading List

It is essential that all students have the study pack and become familiar with its contents. It will be required for some practical sessions.

  • MAST3001 Project Management Studypack/Course Notes - a set of notes and articles relating to the issues covered in each lecture, available from the UCL Management Studies Centre (there will be a small charge for the pack to cover reproduction costs).

Reference should be made to one of the following general texts:

  • Project Management,   J. R. Meredith, S. J. Mantel Wiley, 2000, 0-471-29829-8, (4th ed. referenced here - other editions are suitable)
  • Project Management , Harvey Maylor, FT Prentice Hall 2003; ISBN: 0273655418 (3rd edition only, earlier editions are NOT suitable!)

Further reading suggestions are to be found in the course outline sheet and the studypack.

Exam papers

are available in the DMS Watson (Science) library – earlier years are coded MASTC01 and MASTGC01 – and here (PDF format, UCL password required).

The normal provisos apply. Whilst these papers are a good guide to the style and content of an exam, exam procedures and course content may have changed in the intervening years. It is always better to revise the course you are actually taking than to perfect your answers to a past question!

Office Hours

We welcome students who wish to discuss any aspects of the course. Please e-mail Jane on jane.walker@ucl.ac.uk, Matt on m.whyndham@ucl.ac.uk or phone the Management Studies Centre (020 7679 6240) for an appointment.
