File Formats: Source Table

Here we summarize the organization of the source table section of the catalogue and give details of all the FITS columns. The file is separated into three HDUs (extensions), the first is an empty primary extension containing only administrative and history keywords, the second is a table containing measured properties of each individual source detected by the XMM pipeline, and the third contains details of all XMM pointings contained within the catalogue. There are several generic software packages available to inspect the source catalogue. We recommend fv.
